Upper Chaku Hydropower
Upper Chaku-A Hydroelectricity project is a run-of-river (RoR) type project located in Sindhupalchok district, central Development Region of Nepal. The project will have installed capacity of 22.2 MW. The proposed power House site of the project is located at about 700m upstream of the existing chaku Khola SHEP (1500KW) alon left bank an just d/s of middle chaku settling basin. The chaku khola is one of the major tributaries of the Bhotekoshi River. Chaku Khola is the boarder of Phulpingkatti and marming VDC of sindhupalchok district. Project is located in almost 70Km east along Araniko Highway from kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. The project is located in between longitudes 85 55’ 47”E and 85 58’ 06”E and latitude 27 51’ 32”N and 27 52’ 31”N at sindhupalchok District.
